Our proposal ring is a little different to your average placeholder ring (or temporary engagement ring). True to our sustainability values, when you purchase our proposal ring, following your proposal you send the ring back to us. We will then deduct £200 from the cost of any engagement you choose to have us hand make for you.

This proposal ring will be used again and again by Jacqueline & Edward in the future, leading to a materially conscious choice and a ring endowed with an endless river of stories.

We can re-use any element of the ring you wish, pending final design, from the silver in the shank to the centre stone, so you can retain as much meaning as you wish from the ring you proposed with into the ring your partner finally wears forever.

Don’t know your partners ring size? You can either:

1. Add our Remote Ring Sizing Service on to your order or;
2. If you’re trying to keep your proposal secret you can guess the ring size and once you’ve proposed we will resize your engagement ring free of charge*.

We offer a 50% discount on our Remote Ring Sizing Service when purchased with an engagement ring. We will automatically apply the discount once you have proceeded to checkout and both an engagement ring and the ring sizing service have been added to your basket.

We find it almost inevitable that you will need to resize the engagement ring if you are trying to keep the proposal a secret.

A couple of ideas which might get you close to the right size:

1)  If they wear a ring on the opposite hand but the same finger, it is worth knowing the fingers on your your dominant hand are typically 1/2 to 1 size bigger than your non-dominant hand;

2)  If you think you can use your ninja skills, we can send you out some ring sizing  loops to slip over their while they sleep;

3)  Gently wrap a piece of paper around their finger and draw a line where the two overlap (least accurate way); and

4)  If you have no idea, a general description of their hands (small, medium, large, prominent knuckles, etc.) would give us a steer.

Worst-case scenario, it is always better to go larger than needed so you can slip the ring over her finger in that special moment. The ring can always be resized later.

*Our free resizing service is valid for 14 days from the date you receive your ring.

Hallmarking

Your ring will be hallmarked for authenticity (and as required by UK law) by the Edinburgh, Sheffield or Birmingham Assay Office.

All our Ready To Go engagement rings have been hallmarked.

Packaging

Your ring will be presented in a hand-carved ring box made from sustainably foraged wood with locally and ethically sourced felted wool insert.

The element of surprise – all our engagement rings are sent in discreet, unbranded packaging.

As part of our sustainable commitments, we package our products using recycled cardboard and paper. Your ring will be delivered in a waterproof outer packaging which is made from recycled compostable plastic.

Delivery

As soon as your ring has been hallmarked it will be sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery for UK orders and DHL for all international orders.  We will email you to let you know your package is on its way which will include all tracking details.
