All our pieces are created individually and are fully handmade. We take pride in creating all our pieces from molten gold in our home workshop. They roll around in the bottom of our crucibles before being poured, rolled, shaped and polished into their final form. Our pieces are truly handmade in every sense of the word.
All our pieces come with a hand carved wooden gift box.
With every order made, we plant a tree within the Caledonian Forest in Scotland.
We work to the highest ethical standards. We use recycled precious metals, recycled gemstones or lab grown gemstones. Our ambition is create beautiful high quality pieces whilst minimising the need to draw unnecessarily on the earth’s limited natural resources.
All our pieces contain natural alluvial river gold from an area of your choosing, gifted from our family collection. We believe in connecting our pieces to the wilds of the UK and beyond through both provenance and adventure. Gold panning can be done in a manner which is sustainable and not at all detrimental to the environment by respecting nature and the land owners alike.

When Mark is not roaming the wilds prospecting for gold or silver, he is designing and creating wedding rings in the workshop. Combining his love for the little known world of gold panning with his passion for art and goldsmithing, the idea of Jacqueline & Edward was born. He’s extraordinarily passionate about Jacqueline & Edward and most of all he loves gold, some have said it’s bordering on an obsession…. Mark has stood in the final of the men’s professional class in the world gold panning championships, been part of the British team and won both the British and Scottish gold panning titles. Mark strongly believes in the sustainable acquisition of precious metals and is a trained Geologist and Goldsmith, Chartered Environmentalist, Chartered Scientist and is also chartered with the Institute of Water and Environmental Management. All the gold he uses to make a Jacqueline & Edward piece is both sustainable and eco-friendly, he would have it no other way.
Jacqueline is Mark’s wife. She went gold panning 10 years ago to pan some gold for their wedding rings. It was snowing sideways but she didn’t quit until there was gold at the bottom of her pan. From here she emerged as the driving force, the determination and the compassion behind Jacqueline & Edward. She has a keen eye for design and also manages finance, social media, and most importantly… brushes Ronnie ready for his next adventure.
Ronnie is Mark’s dog. He is the watcher and the fetcher, the path beater and the food gobbler. His days on the river are spent endlessly….and we mean endlessly chasing rocks and watching over the entire expedition with an intensity akin to a deranged and obsessive works foreman. His evenings are spent pulling sticks and leaves out of his undercoat, covering the tent and car in dog hair and getting the duvet and pillows soaking wet ready for bed. When he is not in the mountains, he is responsible for covering the floor of the workshop with his happy go lucky carcass, whilst sleeping in preparation for his next adventure. He is our mascot and we are his pack.

Lunch and snacks to keep your energy levels up and some fluids to stay hydrated.
Aside of that and any personal necessities you may need, bring as little as possible because the gold panning equipment you’ll be carrying will occupy a large proportion of the rucksack.

Wow! When we started looking for our dream wedding bands, it seemed like a pipe dream until we stumbled upon Jacqueline & Edward. From the very first inquiry, Mark was absolutely amazing helping us through the process, and patiently responded to all of our (many!) emails. We used one of their ring designs as a jumping off point, but with a few modifications.
To make sure the rings were absolutelythe right fit, they sent us a box of plastic rings to make sure that we picked the right size which is an amazing idea as we could wear them around for day to make sure they were the perfect fit (turns out my engagement ring is a few sizes too big! That’s what happens when you quickly try on an awkward ring sizer after a brisk walk on a hot day …).
Stellar service, affordable, ethically sourced and most importantly; just drop dead gorgeous final product. I’m so happy that we’ve been able to tie such a pleasant experience to something we’ll carry with us every day.
Thank you so much for your wonderful work! I will definitely be a returning customer 🙂

Highly recommend! We wanted something a bit different from your box standard wedding rings, and are incredibly lucky to have found Mark! The rings are classic while still being distinctive. The fact that the gold is ethically sourced and you can choose from where some of it comes made this particularly appealing to us, to say nothing of the expert craftsmanship. The whole process from the remote ring-sizing service to getting the rings was seamless, and, most importantly, the rings themselves are absolutely amazing! We couldn’t be happier and look forward to wearing these for the rest of our lives!
