All our men's engagement rings are made from ethically sourced 18ct gold (choose from yellow, white or rose gold) or recycled 950 Platinum. We only use ethical diamonds too so you can consciously choose from either recycled diamonds or lab-grown diamonds. None of our rings are cast or mass-produced. They are made-to-order and are as handmade as can be all the way from molten gold through to finished ring. One at a time.

Why Choose Jacqueline & Edward?
Ethics is a complex issue, encompassing environmental, socio-economic and humanitarian factors, and there is no one right answer. We have chosen to only use recycled precious metals because these metals are already in circulation in the world and do not therefore contribute further to the potentially adverse effects that mining can have on ecosystems and communities. Some of our metals go beyond simple recycled metal and have a super cool backstory embedded in the world of planetary remediation. For example, our copper comes from the electrical wiring of a remediation system I installed nearly 20 years ago to clean up a kerosene spill residing atop a groundwater resource used for public drinking water.
There are several differences between white gold and platinum – metal characteristics, colour, durability and cost.
Rhodium plated white gold is what is most commonly encountered in high street jewellery shop windows. It is super-white (whiter than platinum). Whilst the colour appeals to some tastes, the plating will eventually wear off in areas which suffer the most abrasion (e.g. the underside) and show through the true colour of the metal. This means it will need replating every few years to keep it looking its best. We use palladium-rich white gold which includes 16% palladium. We like the slightly earthier tone of palladium-rich white gold compared to rhodium plating, and it means our white gold is the same colour all the way through and never needs replating.
