What is a sizing bead?

Sizing beads are beads or strips of the same precious metal that your ring is made from that are added to the inside of the ring to help it fit comfortably and reduce excessive movement.

Sizing beads can be used if you have large or swollen knuckles, depending on severity. Adding sizing beads allows the ring to be big enough to fit over the knuckle but then stops the ring from being too loose once on your finger and helps to stop the ring moving around and feeling as loose.

Sizing beads are not suitable for all situations. In other circumstances, springs or hinges may be more appropriate.
